# Is buying a micro-SaaS under $50k on Acquire.com a good idea?

Short answer: It can be, if you plan to run the product yourself. At this size Acquire.com's Premium plan ($390 a year) covers startups up to $250k of revenue, sellers verify identity, and Acquire computes revenue and profit from connected data. But the profit usually includes the founder's unpaid hours, so price on what is left after paying for that work.

## What does Acquire.com give a buyer under $50k?

Three things, according to its help pages (read 7 October 2026):

- Access. The Basic plan is free and shows public details. Premium is $390 a year and covers startups with up to $250k of trailing revenue, which includes almost every deal under $50k; Platinum is $780 a year for all sizes. Refunds are not available after 7 days.

- Seller checks. All sellers verify identity through Persona, and US entities can get business verification and a Verified badge.

- Computed metrics. Acquire calculates TTM gross revenue, last month's revenue, TTM profit and last month's profit from a connected P&L, and uses ChartMogul for recurring revenue and Google Analytics for traffic.

None of that checks churn, owner hours or how the Stripe account will move. Those are still yours.

## Why do owner hours decide the return at this size?

Most micro-SaaS products under $50k are run by one founder, and the listed profit is what is left before paying anyone for support, bug fixes and marketing. Acquire.com's multiples report gives a 3.9 times median profit multiple for confirmed SaaS sales; a $42,000 asking price on $1,250 a month looks like 2.8 times, apparently cheap against that. Pay for the founder's 5 hours a week and it is not.

## What does a sub-$50k Acquire listing look like through the checker?

A composite uptime-monitoring micro-SaaS asks $42,000 on $1,500 of MRR, $16,800 of trailing revenue, $1,250 a month of profit and 3% monthly churn. The checker (https://firstpassmemo.com/checker/) gives 33.6 months of payback and finds little wrong in the stated numbers, except that no connected data source was mentioned. Composite example, not a real listing

Micro-SaaS for uptime monitoring, listed on Acquire.com Asking price: $42,000 MRR: $1,500 ARR: $18,000 TTM revenue: $16,800 Average monthly profit: $1,250 Churn: 3% monthly Business age: 2 years Owner hours: 5 hours per week

Traffic sources typed in: Organic search 45%, Direct 35%, Referral 20%.

What the red-flag checker (https://firstpassmemo.com/checker/) returns: a payback of 33.6 months (2.8× annual profit) on average monthly profit, and these flags:

Medium No connected data source mentioned

The figures appear to be typed in by the seller. Nothing in the text says revenue or traffic is connected from Stripe, PayPal, analytics or a marketplace check.

Ask: Can you give read-only access to the payment processor and analytics, or exports that match the P&L?

How this rule works (https://firstpassmemo.com/flags/no-connected-data-source/)

Low Concentration not disclosed

The listing does not say how much revenue comes from the largest customer, affiliate program or traffic partner.

Ask: What share of revenue comes from the top 1 and top 3 customers or partners?

How this rule works (https://firstpassmemo.com/flags/concentration-not-disclosed/)

## What does it really pay back?

Add one-time costs of $1,398 (one year of Premium at $390 plus Escrow.com's standard 2.4% fee on $42,000, $1,008, if you pay all of it) and 5 hours a week at $30 an hour. The true payback calculator (https://firstpassmemo.com/tools/payback-calculator/) gives 72.3 months, against 33.6 as listed.

Composite example, run through the true payback calculator (https://firstpassmemo.com/tools/payback-calculator/)

| Asking price | $42,000 |
| --- | --- |
| Stated monthly profit | $1,250 |
| Owner hours a week | 5 |
| Hourly cost of that time | $30 |
| One-time deal costs | $1,398 |
| Payback as listed | 33.6 months |
| Multiple as listed | 2.80× |
| Owner time per month | $650 |
| Profit you keep | $600 |
| True payback | 72.3 months |
| True annual multiple | 6.03× |

So the deal works if you will do the work yourself and value learning to run a SaaS, or if you can cut the hours, for example by automating support. It does not work as a passive investment at this price. The same arithmetic runs from an AI assistant through our free MCP server (https://firstpassmemo.com/tools/ai-listing-check/).

## What should you ask before an offer?

- View Only access to Stripe for 24 months of charges, refunds and payouts (how (https://firstpassmemo.com/answers/how-to-verify-stripe-revenue-before-buying-a-saas/)).

- Monthly churn computed from Stripe, not quoted.

- What the founder does each week, and how long each task takes.

- How the Stripe account, domain, code and hosting will transfer.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need Acquire.com Premium to buy a small SaaS?

To see private details and chat with sellers, yes. Acquire's subscription terms list Premium at $390 a year for startups up to $250k of trailing revenue, with no refunds after 7 days.

### Does Acquire.com verify a listing's revenue?

It verifies seller identity and computes revenue and profit from connected data. It does not verify owner hours, churn quality or transfer plans; check those yourself.

### What multiple is fair for a micro-SaaS under $50k?

Acquire reports a 3.9 times median profit multiple for confirmed SaaS sales, but apply it to profit after paying for the founder's work. On that basis many sub-$50k listings are fully priced.
