Listing: Acquire.com public listing 47oorsmmx4 (pest prevention, household and wellness newsletter). Ask $72,000. Checked live on 21 Oct 2026 (CT).

## What the listing claims

A weekly email newsletter on Beehiiv covering household pests, prevention and general wellness, with 90,000+ subscribers and 50%+ open rates. Revenue comes from sponsorships, with "established sponsorship packages, advertiser relationships, sales infrastructure." Metrics panel: TTM revenue $29.1k, TTM profit $19.2k, last-month revenue $3k, last-month profit $1.8k, 5,000+ customers, $2.9k ARR, +800% annual growth, 0–1% churn. Founded February 2025. Tech stack named: OpenAI, Beehiiv. Key assets listed: customers, domain, marketing materials, website. Sale reason: starting a new venture.

## What passes (on the public text alone)

- Ask is inside the $20k–$100k band.

- Profitable on the seller's own numbers, with a simple cost base implied (platform plus content).

- Named platform (Beehiiv) means subscriber growth, open rates and acquisition sources can be checked from the account itself, not screenshots.

- Arithmetic on seller-stated figures only: ask ÷ TTM profit = $72,000 ÷ $19,200 ≈ 3.75×; ask ÷ monthly average TTM profit ($1,600) ≈ 45 months; ask ÷ last month's profit ($1,800) = 40 months. TTM revenue per subscriber ≈ $0.32 a year. Ratios, not a price opinion.

## What fails or is unproven

Biggest flag: "recurring revenue" and "$2.9k ARR" don't describe the same business. Acquire defines ARR as last full month's recurring revenue × 12, so $2.9k ARR means about $240 a month is recurring. Last month's gross was $3k. On the listing's own definitions, roughly 92% of last month's revenue was non-recurring, which fits sponsorships bought one send at a time. That can be a fine business, but it is not the "recurring revenue model" in the title. A first pass prices the sponsor pipeline, not a subscription.

Also unproven on the same page:

- "5,000+ customers" on a sponsorship newsletter. Sponsors are usually a handful of advertisers. Are these paying readers, free subscribers, or something else? The answer changes what you are buying.

- +800% growth on a business founded Feb 2025. The prior 12 months were mostly pre-launch, so this compares a year of operation to a few months. It says little about the current trend.

- 90K subscribers in about 20 months. Fast list growth often comes from paid acquisition, recommendation networks, or giveaways. Each has a different quality and a different cost to maintain.

- 50%+ open rates. Apple Mail privacy protection inflates opens. Clicks and sponsor results are the better test of attention.

- OpenAI in the stack, wellness in the content. If editions are AI-drafted health advice, check sender reputation, unsubscribe and spam rates, and what claims the content makes.

- "Minimal owner involvement" and "sales infrastructure." No hours are stated, and the sponsor relationships may belong to the seller personally rather than to the business.

## Questions to ask the seller

- Monthly revenue for every month since launch, split into sponsorship, recurring (the $2.9k ARR line) and anything else, with Beehiiv and payment-processor exports that add up to $29.1k.

- What are the 5,000+ customers? Show the count by type (paid subscribers, sponsors, other).

- Sponsors over the last 12 months: number of distinct advertisers, repeat rate, and the top three advertisers' share of revenue (percentages are fine).

- Subscriber growth by month and by source (organic, Beehiiv Boosts or recommendations, paid ads, giveaways), with acquisition spend for each month.

- Last 12 editions: delivered, unique opens, unique clicks, unsubscribes and spam complaints, from the Beehiiv dashboard.

- How is each edition produced: who writes, edits and fact-checks it, how OpenAI is used, and the hours per week for content and for selling sponsorships.

- Which sponsor contracts, rate cards and advertiser contacts transfer, and have any advertisers committed to campaigns after the sale?

- Line-item costs behind last month's $1.2k gap between revenue and profit, and confirmation that TTM profit uses the same treatment.
