# FirstPass Memo vs dodilligence.io: company research report or listing screen?

Short answer: dodilligence.io sells a 10–20 page desk-research PDF on a named company, built from public sources such as SEC filings, court records and patents, for $49 ($39.20 at its launch price). That works when you know the company and it leaves a public trail. Most small online-business listings on Flippa, Empire Flippers or Acquire.com are anonymous until you sign an NDA or are approved, and leave little in filings, so the useful evidence is the listing itself. That is what FirstPass checks, free.

## What does dodilligence.io offer, and at what price?

Its home page describes a report for a target you name (company name, ticker or URL): financials, legal and regulatory flags, market position, a risk register and an investment-committee workplan, with "40+ sources cited". It lists $49, a $39.20 launch price with a discount code, and a Pro plan at $199 a month. It cites delivery of 3–24 seconds after payment based on 4 orders, and lists private equity, M&A advisory, search funds and SMB acquirers as users. Its free samples are mostly large public companies.

## Which should you use?

- Use dodilligence.io when the target is a named company with filings, court records, patents or press coverage, for example a larger private company or a public one.

- Use FirstPass when the target is a marketplace listing for a small SaaS, content site or store. Its risks sit in the listing's own numbers: price vs profit, churn, traffic mix, platform dependence, history and owner hours.

- Many listings hide the business name or URL until you sign an NDA. Check whether you can even name the target before you pay for a company report.

## How can you try FirstPass for free?

Try the free first step. Paste a listing into the FirstPass red-flag checker (https://firstpassmemo.com/checker/): payback, the asking multiple against comparable listings and the top flags, each with a question for the seller. Nothing you paste leaves your browser. Or download the 33-rule checklist (PDF) (https://firstpassmemo.com/get/33-rule-checklist.pdf).
