About
Editorial policy, independence and corrections
Short answer: FirstPass Memo is paid only by buyers, cites a dated source for every price, fee and statistic, marks every page with the date it was updated, and corrects mistakes with a dated note. Pages are signed with a pen name, Joan Murphy, and claim no credentials.
Independence
No marketplace, broker, seller or competitor pays us, and we use no affiliate links or ads. When we compare ourselves with other services (for example human quick reviews), we quote their published prices with the date read and say plainly where they do something we do not.
Sources and dates
- Prices, fees and policies are taken from the provider's own page and dated.
- Statistics come from our own published datasets (with sample size) or a named report.
- Every page shows "Updated" with a date; structured data carries the same date.
Use of software and AI
We use software, including AI writing tools, to draft and format pages. A draft is published only after its figures and claims are checked against the cited sources. The checker itself is a set of fixed rules, not an AI model.
Teardowns of real listings
We quote only what the public listing says, phrase findings as questions to verify, never name the owner, and add a dated note when a listing sells or is withdrawn. Sellers and brokers can ask for a factual correction at the address below.
Corrections
Email hello@firstpassmemo.com with the page and the error. We fix confirmed errors and add a dated correction note on the page.
Not advice
Everything here is informational screening, not investment, legal, tax, accounting or valuation advice, and not an audit or verification. See the methodology for limits.
