Teardown: $5.9K Per Month Amazon Associates Site in the Beauty Niche (Empire Flippers #93496)
Short answer: a first-pass read of a live public listing, asking $206,584: 0 red, 7 yellow and 5 green flags from the checker's rules. Every figure comes from the public listing page; nothing here has been verified with the seller.
How to read this. Flags are questions to answer, not findings. A red flag means the listing's own figures or text need an explanation before you spend money on diligence; it does not mean anything is wrong. Sellers often have good answers. Listing details can change after the date above.

Red flags
- None from the listing's public data.
Yellow flags
- Volatile monthly profit (CV 0.45). Monthly profit ranged $972–$10,083.
- Very high reported margin (98%). Often excludes owner labor, contractors, tools, or payment fees.
- Organic Social ≈80% of users. Single-channel dependency.
- Platforms the listing relies on or mentions: Amazon, Meta/Facebook, Google Search, Mediavine/ad network. Ask how much revenue and traffic depends on each, and whether there has been any past policy or algorithm impact.
- Traffic up 3.1× within the analytics window. Users/month: first-3 avg 23,721 → last-3 avg 72,839; latest month led by Organic Social (86%). Revenue did not rise with it.
- Customer/revenue concentration not disclosed.
- Generic reason for sale. The Seller would like to explore other opportunities.
Green flags
- The listing shows connected data providers: Google Analytics, Raptive, Amazon Associates. These reduce, but do not remove, the need to reconcile figures to bank deposits.
- About 79 months of operating history (first revenue 2020-03, per the listing).
- Marketplace-reported revenue trend +214% (profit trend +295%).
- Seller states about 10 hours a week of owner time (to confirm against the task list).
- Post-sale support is offered: The Seller is willing to offer 30 days of email support and/or calls to ensure a smooth transition for the Buyer.
Questions to ask the seller
- Explain the low months (refunds, annual-plan timing, one-off costs?).
- List every recurring cost, including the value of the owner's time.
- What is behind the Organic Social traffic and how durable is it?
- What would happen to revenue if Amazon changed its policy/API tomorrow? Any past incidents?
- What caused the traffic jump (campaign, bot/untagged traffic, new property in the GA view)?
- What share of revenue comes from the top 1 and top 3 customers (or traffic/affiliate partners)?
- Why sell now, and what would you do with the business if it doesn't sell?
- Provide a month-by-month P&L for the last 24 months with every cost line.
- What exactly transfers (domains, code, accounts, trademarks, email lists, contractor relationships)?
What to verify
- Ad network and affiliate dashboards (read-only), reconciled to bank or PayPal deposits month by month
- Analytics and Search Console (or social platform) exports covering the listing's 12 months
- Top pages and top traffic sources by share of revenue, and how each would transfer
- A P&L with every cost line, including writers, designers, tools and the owner's time
- Platform-policy history: any manual action, algorithm drop, demonetisation or account warning
- What exactly transfers: domain, content, social accounts, email list
Payback at the asking price: 32.4 months on the stated average profit, 40.5 months if profit is 20% lower, 54.0 months if 40% lower. This is arithmetic on the listing's figures, not a valuation or a bid suggestion.
Seller statements to check against evidence
Quoted from the listing. Each is a reasonable thing for a seller to say and worth confirming with documents.
- “Established in 2020, this website and social media brand operate in the Beauty niche, with a focus on the maintenance, protection, and enhancement of dyed or chemically treated hair.”
- “The business is monetized through Raptive, Amazon Associates, and the Facebook Monetization program, supported by a strong social media presence of over 80,000 followers, which has driven solid traffic and revenue growth in recent months.”
- “While the site previously benefited from significant organic search traffic, SEO performance declined in mid-2025 following a Google algorithm update, making the recovery of organic rankings a key growth opportunity.”
- “This represents an attractive opportunity for buyers seeking a social media-driven, evergreen beauty brand with meaningful upside through SEO improvements, brand partnerships, and expanded affiliate monetization. *Raptive requires a minimum of 100,000 pageviews per month for the first/main website to be accepted into their program and 30,000 pageviews for additional sites.”
Risks the listing itself discloses: Social media algorithmic changes could cause traffic to fluctuate. The main affiliate offers being changed, removed, or updated could affect commissions. Changing advertisers could lead to a lower CTR (click-through rate) generating less revenue.
