How do you verify Amazon FBA sales before buying an FBA business?
Short answer: Ask for a live screen share of Seller Central and check Business Reports for monthly sales, Payments for what Amazon actually disbursed and Account Health for warnings, then match disbursements to bank deposits. Rebuild profit yourself from supplier invoices and ad spend, count inventory separately from the multiple, and check how much depends on one product.
What Amazon reports prove FBA sales?
Ask for a live screen share of Seller Central where the seller logs in, and look at the Business Reports for sales and units by month, the Payments reports for what Amazon actually disbursed, and the Account Health page. Then match the disbursements to bank deposits. Sales are not profit: fees, advertising, returns and inventory all come out first.
How do you rebuild FBA profit?
- Start from disbursements, not gross sales, for 12 to 24 months.
- Subtract cost of goods using supplier invoices, not the seller's estimate.
- Subtract advertising. Check Sponsored Products spend in the ads console. Profit that depends on heavy ad spend is less transferable.
- Count inventory separately. Stock is usually paid for on top of the multiple. See how inventory changes the price.
- Check concentration. One product above half of sales means one listing, one review problem or one competitor can halve the business.
What account risks should you check?
Look at Account Health for policy warnings, intellectual-property complaints and listing suppressions, and ask whether the brand is registered and in whose name. A seller account and its brand registry do not always move cleanly to a new owner; ask early how the transfer will work and what Amazon requires.
What does the checker flag on FBA listings?
The free checker raises platform dependence on every Amazon business, and often margins that look too high, declining revenue or under 12 months of history. Use our FBA inventory and price check to see the real payback once stock is added.
